Easy Grape Tanghulu Recipe | Crispy Candied Grapes
Crispy outside, juicy inside! For the best results, use Costco seedless grapes or candy grapes — their sweetness and firm skins make them perfect for tanghulu.

Contents
Ingredients (Serves 2–3)
- Seedless grapes — 1 bunch (Costco recommended; candy grapes are also great)
- Sugar — 200g (about 1 cup)
- Water — 100ml (about 1/2 cup)
- Skewers
💡 Ratio tip: Sugar to water = 2:1 for the crispiest shell.
Instructions
1. Wash & dry. Pat grapes completely dry; moisture prevents the coating from sticking.
2. Skewer the grapes. Place 2–3 grapes on each skewer.
3. Make the syrup. Combine sugar and water in a saucepan and heat over medium without stirring. When it turns light golden, turn off the heat.

4. Dip & set. Quickly dip the skewered grapes and place on parchment to set.
5. Chill. Refrigerate 5–10 minutes until crunchy. Enjoy!

Tips for Success
- No stirring while boiling — prevents crystallization.
- Dry completely before dipping.
- Stop at light golden to avoid bitterness and keep a clear shine.
- Costco grapes are large and sweet, pairing perfectly with the candy shell.
Variations
- Strawberry tanghulu
- Mandarin orange tanghulu
- Cherry tomato tanghulu
